CPS Personalized Learning

Prototypes

C|ZDS was engaged by Chicago Public Schools to develop prototype programs for a new elementary and high school. The goal was to establish a basic framework with a series of optional program components that redefines the traditional school model in a way that meets the needs of each student, school curriculum, and neighboring community.

C|ZDS assisted in the development of prototype personalized learning spaces to support a learner-driven instructional model that fosters 21st century skills by empowering every student to actively co-design their learning path, pace, and environment according to their individual strengths, needs, and interests. These spaces support a flexible learning model, recognizing that learning can happen anytime and anywhere, and students can often demonstrate their knowledge in multiple ways. As co-designers of their learning plans, students are empowered to take ownership of their education.
